Yubaba House

Your accommodation in the heart of Nozawa Onsen. Only 50 meters from Oyu street, the main street of this unique Winter town, Yubaba House is tucked away in a little side street. The great location of Yubaba House allows you to fully enjoy all the hustle and bustles of this lively mountain town on your doorstep without disturbing your well deserved sleep after a long day on the slopes.

Yubaba House has 5 furnished apartments and gets its name from all the Old Grannies and Granddads cruising up and down the little street during the day. In fact the house has been a hangout for a lot of the older generation back in the days to meet up, drink tea, sake and chat about the new town gossip.

All our apartments are fully furnished with kitchen, toilet and shower. There is a spacious ski and drying room downstairs in the basement available for our in-house guest.

Yubaba House offers a spacious lobby as a communal space to our guests. Great to do some remote work or simply catch up with some new friends over a glass of wine.

Unit 1

Unit 1 is on the ground floor and has 2 single beds in the cozy basement room. The double bed is on the raised landing from living / dining. There is a fully equipped kitchen with dining table. Japanese / Western fusion in great location with all the comfort you need. Perfect for a family of 2ad and 2 kids.

All our apartments are fully furnished with kitchen, toilet and shower. There is a spacious ski and drying room downstairs in the basement available for our in-house guest.

Unit 2

Unit 2 is on the ground floor and has a comfortable double bed and one bunk bed. Both rooms are downstairs. There is a fully equipped kitchen with dining table. Japanese / Western fusion in great location with all the comfort you need. Perfect for a family of 2ad and 2 kids.

All our apartments are fully furnished with kitchen, toilet and shower. There is a spacious ski and drying room downstairs in the basement available for our in-house guest.

Unit 3

Studio Apartment right in the centre of town. Great views and a modern finish awaits you in Unit 3 upstairs at Yubaba House. Newly renovated you are only a stone throw away from bars, restaurants, and the ski field. The main street of Nozawa Onsen is less than 50 meters on foot and the Hikage ski area is easily accessible with the moving walkway. Nagasaka Gondola is less than 10 minutes by walk. 

There is a comfortable double bed, perfect for a couple or single use. The Studio is best suitable for a couple but could be for a family with a little toddler too and happy to provide a baby crib for you.

All our apartments are fully furnished with a kitchen, toilet, and shower. There is a small dining table for you and you will find everything you need for your stay in Nozawa Onsen.

Unit 4

Get the real Japanese experience. Unit 4 is upstairs and has a Japanese style Tatami room with Japanese traditional futons on the floor plus a built in western double bed in the living / kitchen room. Small Unit with all the comfort including a fully equipped kitchen and dining table. Japanese, Western fusion in great location with all the comfort you need. Perfect for a family of 2ad and 2 kids or a group of 4 to maximum 5 friends.

All our apartments are fully furnished with kitchen, toilet and shower. There is a common room to use for our guests downstairs and spacious ski and drying room in the basement too. Please note that the pictures uploaded are to give you an idea of the space as we have just finished the renovations. The apartment will be fully furnished and will upload updated pictures shortly.

Unit 5

Great views and modern finish awaits you in Unit 5 upstairs at Yubaba House.There are 2 comfortable single beds with built in bunk bed in the main sleeping room. Plenty of storage space and nice sunset views. The main living dining room has a sofa landing, fully equipped kitchen and dining table. Small Unit with all the comfort in great location of town. Perfect for a family of 2ad and 2 kids.

All our apartments are fully furnished with kitchen, toilet and shower. There is a common room to use for our guests downstairs and spacious ski and drying room in the basement too. Pictures of the fully furnished Unit will be uploaded shortly as we are just finishing up the renovation.

Location

Just 50 meters up from the main street of Nozawa Onsen you are right in the center of town. Tucked away in a little and quiet side street you are only footsteps aways from pubs, restaurants and all the fun. To go skiing you either walk straight up to the main Nagasaka Gondola and warm up your legs before you hit the slopes or take it easy and walk across to the moving walkway (escalator) which connects town to Hikage ski center.
